K Star
✩ Bringing you a taste of South Korea to
Eastbourne ✩
When we heard that K Star were
opening on Grove Road, we couldn’t
wait until we could get down there and
give the food a whirl. We drove past
most days (for a good 2 weeks) to see if
it had opened yet and we still managed
to miss the opening day. However we
did manage to go down a few weeks a go
to see what tasty delights they had to
offer and what the BBQ part was all
about.
✩ Try out all
of the Korean
drinks that
they have on
offer - they
sound very
different, but
they all taste
pretty
incredible ✩
K Star is the first of
it’s kind in
Eastbourne and we
loved it. You will
notice when you
go in that all of the
tables have a grill
in the middle of the
table, so that you can
grill your own meat,
if you choose
anything from the
BBQ section of the
menu. To be able to
tell you about that
part of the restaurant
we had to give it a
little test run. But
first lets talk about
starters. We opted for
two sharing platters
and those included a
meat sharing platter
and the katsu
sharing platter and
oh my goodness it
was delicious. The
katsu one was the
best. It included
katsu chicken,
onions, mushrooms
and also tofu. You
have to try this when
you go. Then we had
the meat
sharing plater, which
had squid kimchi
jeon, squid vegetable
jeon, fried gimmari
and fried chicken
dumplings. Even if
you don’t think that
you like squid - give
it a go - it tasted
pretty good. You’ll be
surprised. Next up
we had the beef from
the grill menu which
comes in a special
marinade and tastes
absolutely fantastic.
It was quite fun
grilling your own
