12 Eastbourne Lifestyle Jodie Murdoch
Managing Director at
Jodie & Chris’ Mobile Aesthetics
Tell us why you decided to train in aesthetics and how
you got started with your own business?
* I decided to train in Aesthetics because I had seen the
medical benefits from using Botox whilst working in
operating theatres. I love meeting new people so thought
this would be the perfect opportunity. I chose Aesthetics
because having a good knowledge of anatomy
and physiology is a huge part of this business which was
ideal as this is a huge part of my role as a surgical and
anaesthetic practitioner.
What is your fave procedure to carry out?
* My favourite procedure is treatment for hyperhydrosis,
this is excessive sweating from the arm pits. The joy
clients get from the results is amazing.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
* The most rewarding part is definitely making clients feel
their best. We get lots of clients feeling down about the
ageing process and they leave feeling great.
Any advice for young ladies wanting to get started
in the aesthetics industry?
* My advice would be to get extensive training. A one
day course is just not enough, also train in
complications management because so many people
are skipping this part.
What would you say to any first timers looking to
get botox/ fillers?
It is vital that you research your practitioner first.
Look at training, insurance, reviews, photos etc. Any
injections should be done in a clinical environment
so look at the venue too. Most importantly, make
sure they are trained to deal with a complication.
What is next for Jodie & Chris’s mobile aesthetics?
* We have a very exciting time coming. We will soon
be offering PDO threads which are also known as the
‘one step face lift’. We will be offering fat dissolving
injections and other exciting treatments. We are venturing
into ear health too so we are extremely busy!
