As a female business owner what do you think
is the most important component/rule when it
comes to achieving success in a competitive
environment?
* Never worry about what your competitors are
doing, concentrate on your business only. Be
unique, never settle and share your vision.
What has been your biggest
challenge so far?
* My biggest challenge so far has
been preparing for my
maternity leave. When I first found
out I was expecting my first child,
my business was of course one of
the first worries that went through
my mind. However, after months
of preparation and even seeking
external expert consulting advice,
I am now full of confidence
that everything will run just fine
without me being there everyday. I
am incredibly lucky to have such a
fantastic team.
What is your advice to anyone
who might want to start a
business, but are scared/on the
fence about starting?
* Anyone can start a business but
you need passion and determination
for it to succeed. A successful
business doesn’t come easily and
anyone close to me will tell you
that I never ever switch off; your
business is in the back of your
mind 24/7 and you need to be
prepared for that. Especially in the
beauty industry, you see so many
new start ups which is fantastic
as long as you have covered all of
your research and followed all the
required guidelines.
What’s next for Essential Beauty?
* In the next few years I have plans
to re-brand Essential Beauty. There
are many things I would do differently
now and make changes to
which excites me. The beauty &
spa industry is constantly evolving
and staying up to date with this
is essential to continue personal
development of my team and keep
our clients coming back time and
time again.
