✩ Eastbourne's only Jamaican restaurant ✩
For those of you not in the know, Eastbourne
has a Jamaican restaurant. Yes you read that
correctly, a Jamaican restaurant. We had a
fair few messages on Instagram when we
shared that we were having dinner there.
Bready’s Delights opened back in
September, they used to have a food truck,
which travelled around, but that
unfortunately that burnt down earlier on in
the year.
We have been dying to get down there to try
out the menu ever since it opened. Mainly
the jerk chicken, because have you eaten a
Jamaican meal if you haven’t had jerk
chicken? Well, really that is all we know
about Jamaican food, that and plantain, so
we had no idea what we would be eating or
what to expect.
Bready the owner made us feel very
welcomed and right at home. We picked our
drinks - beer - red stripe of course - if you’ve
ever been to Jamaica before you will know
how much they love red stripe, then we spent
ages looking at the menu. The menu was
fantastic, but we instantly went to the jerk
section and that was the only section that we
checked out for mains. The other main
sections on the menu were meat, fish and
they also a vegan menu. So there really is
something for everyone.

For starters we decided to go with what
Bready suggested we should try and
went from there. His choices were the
mango and ginger fried chicken
nibbles with Bready’s famous jerk sauce
and also the coconut callaloo with mini
festival dumplings. The mango and
ginger chicken was out of this world.
Most probably the best chicken that we
have ever tried. It was so full of flavour
and so well cooked. This one comes
with a huge recommendation from us.
We could have eaten 4 plates of this
and have been very happy.
Then we had the callaloo, which is
a vegetarian option for any veggies
thinking of taking a trip down to
Bready’s. The festival part of that is
Caribbean fried dumplings, which
