Skylark is a relatively new addition to Eastbourne.
It opened at the beginning of the year and we have
been itching to get down there and try out all the
foodie goodness.
We went a couple of weeks a go to try out their new
Spring menu and it was delicious - everything was
delicious.
We ordered the baked eggs and also the antipasti.
The baked eggs were out of this world. We can’t
recommend them enough. There is a meat option
and also a vegetarian option. We went for the
meat option, which included serrano ham, chestnut
mushrooms, shallots, saute potatoes, baby spinach
and creme fraiche. It was the perfect dish, everything
went so well together and the creme fraiche just
topped off all of the flavours. Each bite was just as
amazing as the next. We could have eaten it forever
This is a MUST EAT!
We also had the antipasti, which included charcuterie,
mixed olives, fresh basil pesto, hummous,
artichoke hearts, roasted peppers and toasted poppy
seed bakery focaccia. It doesn’t look like a lot of food,
but boy was that filling.

Now it wouldn’t be much of a review if we didn’t have
pudding - so we had to squeeze down a Seaside sundae
- because we’re at the seaside - of course. Let us
talk you through this sundae. It contains Downsview
farmhouse honeycomb and vanilla ice cream, Biscoff
crumb, sea salt caramel and whipped cream. Which
was amazing an just enough to leave you feeling satisfied,
but not left needing a 25 hour nap.
Skylark also have a fully stocked bar with a lovely
amount of gin for all of you gin lovers out there
including a Seven Sisters gin, which comes highly
recommended.

Even better news, Skylark have a Happy Hour every
Friday from 5pm - 7pm. Where you can get two
cocktails for £10, which we think is a pretty great
deal.
