Dermaplaning at The
Serenity Room
✩ I have to say that this treatment is by far the most beneficial
thing that I have ever done to my skin ✩

Whilst perusing Facebook I saw a post by
Cora at Serenity Room. She was promoting
the Serenity Rooms latest treatment, which
was dermaplaning. So I got in touch and
booked myself an appointment, in the name
of research. Think of me as your guinea pig.
I absolutely love trying new beauty treatments
and i’ll try just about anything, but I have
to say that I was a teeny bit scared to try out
dermaplaning AKA face shaving. Only because
everyone has an opinion on it, whether
it’s an educated one or just what they think. I
had dreams of myself waking up looking like
a yeti. Like, I get my dermaplaning treatment
on a Monday and then by the Wednesday i’m
a full on fur face. Doesn’t happen by the way,
it’s not a thing.
When you get to the Serenity Room Cora sits
down to have a chat with you, to make sure
that YOU know that she is trained and knowledgeable
in what she is doing - so you know
you’re in capable hands. She then talks you
through the treatment and also finds out what
you are expecting/ looking for, during your
time there. If you have any skin problems etc.
I have rosacea, so it was a bit of an experiment
to see what it would actually do for my skin.
Dermaplaning itself involves using a scalpel
for hair removal and light exfoliation of the
skin. It is often used as a pre-treatment treatment,
to get your skin ready for a facial. As
the products used afterwards will be able to
seep into your skin and be more beneficial as
opposed to just sitting on the top of your skin
and it not sinking in.
