The tomato sauce was fantastic, even better when
the pickled onions were added into the mix.
Next up was of course the mains. There was a
turkey dinner, roasted butternut squash tart, pan
fried sea bass fillets, slow cooked pork belly, slow
cooked boneless rib of beef and lastly an 8oz
sirloin steak to choose from. Everything looked
incredible, but in the name of Christmas we went
with the turkey and then had the slow cooked
boneless rib of beef.
The boneless rib of beef was beautiful. The mash
as mentioned before - is literally the best thing
ever tasted in mash history. We wondered why it
tasted so incredible and it must be the fact that it
is truffle and parsley mash. If that is the case - give
us all the truffles all day long! So So So good.
The beef was just delicious melt in your mouth,
give me some more, keep it coming all day long.
You have to try it. Seriously.
The turkey was also great. We love a roast dinner
at The Lamb Inn and this one didn’t disappoint.
You got some much on your plate, that if you
opted for the 3 courses, you would literally be
rolling out of the restaurant. But it’s oh so worth it.
By this time we were fully stuffed, but in the name
of research we had to have a pudding. We went for
a Christmas pudding - which was a very first for
us. And we also had a crème brûlée, because The
Lamb Inn do a great crème brûlée. We’re not sure
why we’ve avoided Christmas pudding for the last
30 odd years, turns out we really like it and now
have a lot of Christmas pudding catching up to do.
All in all a fantastic festive night out. Great food,
great atmosphere, lovely warm fire, we’d definitely
recommend coming here for a Christmas get
together with your friends. We’ve already been
back with the girls since writing this.
