A Sunday feast at The Victoria Pub
This is our 2nd trip The Victoria Pub for food. Amy from the now shut Amy’s cafe is the chef there. Amy cooks the yummiest food (Seen here) and if you’ve never been treated to Amy’s cooking, you need to change that ASAP.
This time, we went on down to try her roast dinners. And boy did it not disappoint. We ordered the large roast dinner – for review purposes of course – but if you don’t fancy a huge roast, there are smaller plates available, but when in Rome…..
The roasts come with a choice meat (vegetarian/vegan options available), three seasonal vegetables, crunchy roast potatoes, yorkshire puddings and gravy.
You are also able to add sides to your roast dinner and those include pigs in blankets, homemade cauliflower cheese, stuffing balls , extra roast potatoes and extra yorkshire puddings.
We went for the beef roast dinner and the chicken roast dinner. These came with carrots, peas and cabbage for the seasonal veggies. We also opted for a side of homemade cauliflower cheese – because it’s not a proper roast unless you have a side of cauliflower cheese. We also ordered pigs in blankets because we were feeling the Christmas dinner vibes.
The pigs in blankets were incredible and absolutely huge in comparison to what we’re used to. Give them a try.
The cauliflower cheese was huge and full of cheesey goodness.
The roast dinners themselves were perfect. HUGE, we couldn’t finish either of them, but we’re not complaining, we like to try.
The potatoes were really great, perfectly cooked and crunchy on the outside. The cabbage was really great completely covered in gravy. So much gravy – exactly how we like it.
The chicken was perfect, we can’t explain it, but it was great. And the beef was sooooooo good.
Another great roast dinner in Eastbourne!!! And another place for you to try out.
