Whilst most people are at the gym or hibernating on the sofa, we’re doing both, you might like to also curl up and read a good book. So grab a hot drink, a blanket and curl up with a good book and a roaring fire (central heating will also work).
1. Not That Kind Of Girl by Lena Dunham
We’ve heard amazing this about this book from the actor and writer of the TV show Girls. We can’t wait to start reading it. Β Lena shares with you parts of her life, the good, the bad, the ugly in a comical yet understandable way.
2. The Power by Rhonda Byrne
Uplifting when needed, this book is the second instalment from Rhonda Byrne. Covering the Law of Attraction and what it takes to have the life you want to live. Uplifting and slightly inspirational. A must read of your having a few blah months or want a change in direction.
3. The Hard Thing About Hard Things by Ben Horowitz
Thinking of starting a new business, want to know what it takes, then this book is for you. It’s honest, it’s straight up and it’s an eye opener. We’re only on the first few pages, but we can’t wait to finish it.
4. Girl Boss by Sophia Amoruso
We’ve read this book a few times now and have added it to the Winter list because we found it quite inspirational. Hard work really can take you anywhere, if you want it enough.
5. Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes
Described by Amazon as a wise, witty and truthful beauty handbook for real women on what works in real life. And if you don’y like it, it’ll make a great coffee table book.
6. Running The World by Beyonce
We love biographies and we can’t wait to give this one a read. The most powerful celebrity in the world, who seems to be able to do it all and still have time to go to the hairdressers.
7. Estee A Success Story by Estee Lauder
This book was first published way back in 1985, however it is now back in print again. Another coffee table book, but also sounds like a great read. It’s a bit of a rags to riches story and how she built her empire.
8. Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow. My Life by Sophia Loren
Another biography, this time the on screen legend that is Sophia Loren. From the beginning to where she ended up. Another inspirational story, for sure.
9. Everything Is Gonna Be Ok by Anonymous
A great little book full of inspirational quotes, encouragement and affirmations. This book will definitely cheer you up if you’re suffering from the January blues.
10. How To Be Parisian Wherever You Are by Audrey Diwan
A take on parisian life, love and liberty, in an amusing way.
