Why you should be sleeping on a silk pillowcase
We’ve been hearing all about the benefits of sleeping on a silk pillowcase for a while now, but weren’t particularly sold on it.
However we had some to try out and as we love to be guinea pigs, we decided to give the pillowcases a try out and see what we thought on it.
The benefits of sleeping on a silk pillowcase are …
* Help prevent sleep lines – no wrinkles for us
* You wake up with cute hair, not the i’ve gone through a hurricane look that you’re probably used to when you wake up
* It’s hypoallergenic
* Less absorbent than cotton, so less bacteria and it doesn’t absorb your night time serum
* Silk is a natural heat regulator – so it’s keeps you warm in Winter and cool in the Summer.
So after sleeping on a silk pillowcase and then going back to the bog standard pillowcase we have to say that the silk wins hands down. With a silk pillowcase you literally wake up with the best bed head ever – sometimes you don’t even have to brush the hair it is that good. When we went back to the old pillowcases we woke up looking like some sort of bush animal.
In terms of buying a silk pillowcase – make sure it’s 100% silk you don’t want to get a cheaper version that says SILK, but is actually satin made with polyester. You won’t get the same benefits albeit it looks similar.
