What you can eat at Nando’s if you’re vegetarian
We went to Nando’s again this weekend, but purely for research purposes as we wanted try out the vegetarian options that they have on the menu. We were surprised at just how many options there actually was, that didn’t include chicken. This is what we had;
Starters – Houmous with peri-peri drizzle – this was our favourite starters – so tasty and the peri-peri drizzle is amazing. We also tried the red pepper dip with pitta strips, which was good, but not as good as the houmous. Next up we had the peri peri mixed nuts. This was our first time trying out the Nando’s nuts and they are tasty. We wish they sold them in the shops.
Lastly we had the halloumi sticks and chilli jam dip. These were the most filling out of all the starters and definitely needed to be shared.
For mains we went for the sweet potato and butternut burger in medium and it was pretty tasty. Would order this again, but most probably in a pitta instead of a burger as it was quite messy to eat. We also tried the portabello mushroom and grilled halloumi wrap in medium and that was brilliant. Anything with halloumi gets a thumbs up from us. If we were to have this again, we would most definitely have it in hot as the medium was a bit too tame for us.
Both really great vegetarian options and we were surprised with how much flavour they had.
For the sides we had garlic bread, mash potato, sweet potato mash, peri-peri chips, supergrain salad. All choices were fabulous although you just can’t beat the peri-peri chips in our opinion. If you’re after a slightly healthier side the supergrain salad is full of flavour and a great alternative to carbs.
There are other vegetarian options available – these options are just what we had to eat. You can view the whole Nando’s menu here.
