We tried a supermarket Christmas dinner and here is what we thought
We eat out a lot, you know this and we really do try everywhere. Last week took us to Sainsbury’s cafe for a bit of lunch. We decided to give the Christmas dinner on offer a test. 1. Because we used to love school dinner roast dinners way back in the day and we hoped it would be just like those and 2. We love a Christmas dinner and it was only a fiver.
We were actually pleasantly surprised. The additions, which we were expecting, were cauliflower cheese, and two mini sausages – woo hoo! You get the usual roast potatoes, which were actually nice and crispy. You had enough gravy for roast to gravy ratios and sprouts – we love sprouts. Also they had stuffing – which is the best part of a roast.
We weren’t offered cranberry sauce, but word on the street is that they do have it and if you don’t get it on your plate, maybe ask someone and see if it is available. Had we been offered cranberry sauce this would have been quite a good meal.
When we say good – school dinner good – not actual Christmas dinner on Christmas day good. But defo worth a little trip if you find yourself nearby craving Christmas dinner.
