On a really horrid, stormy Sunday, we decided that we should go out for afternoon tea. What else would you being doing on a Sunday? So we headed down to our fave afternoon tea destination – The Hydro Hotel. We have had Afternoon tea before (read review here), but we weren’t hungry enough for the whole shebang – mainly because one of us – mentioning no names – cough, cough Lyndsay – had a roast before joining us! So we all decided on The Hydro Speciality Tea, which we have to say was just as lovely. The difference in the speciality tea as appose to the afternoon tea, is no cake, which was fine by us, we always end up taking a doggy bags home anyways. You get a sandwich – cucumber is the package – however we opted for another for an extra 75p. A freshly baked scone with clotted cream and jam and tea/ coffee. We had tea. The staff are absolutely lovely and quite entertaining as it turns out. We definitely do love it at The Hydro Hotel and strongly suggest that you take a trip down, between 3pm – 5pm on a Saturday or Sunday. If you don’t fancy afternoon tea, you can check out the full menu here.
The scone doesn’t look that pretty – but the more cream the better we say.
