What’s Happened To The Farm Friday Street?

What’s happened to The Farm Friday Street?

We posted earlier in the week (seen here) that we had a few emails from readers about The Farm Friday Street being closed still and if we knew why, we didn’t and said that we would keep you updated if we hear anything.

One of our readers then DM’d us and let us know that all of the staff have lost their jobs and that The Farm had gone into administration.

Today they released a statement on Facebook

It will come as no surprise that during this past year the hospitality sector has endured a torrid time as a result of the pandemic and the forced closure for 3½ months. There has been help to a degree from the Government but sadly this doesn’t go anywhere near the expenses that needed to be covered.
On the back of a very good winter and high hopes for the year ahead, on 20th March we were forced to close the business by the Government.

It was clear from the restrictions that on the 4th July it would not be possible for us to open all of our pubs so we picked the four which we believed would survive under the new Covid regulations hoping to make enough money to open the remaining sites. Sadly, not for the lack of trying and the continuing added Covid restrictions like the 10pm curfew this has not been possible, unfortunately on the 30th September 2020, we called in the Administrators.

It breaks my heart to say that The Farm @ Friday Street, will not be opening under its current owner Whiting and Hammond.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal customers, fantastic suppliers and most of all the staff for their support over the years”. I know the Landlord is looking for a new operator for the pub and I send all our best wishes and hope they will be successful in turning the closed business around.
Be Safe…..Brian Whiting

We will miss the food, the wine, the fire and the atmosphere.

We loved spending a hungover wintery Saturday afternoon, eating mac & cheese with garlic bread and a side of chips.

What will you miss the most?
