The Congress Theatre will no longer be showing the Russian State Opera production in the light of the current situation

In a statement on Eastbourne Theatres Facebook page it has been announced that the Russian state opera production of Carmen and Aida has now been cancelled in light of the current situation.

Full statement below …

In light of the escalating situation in Ukraine, The Congress Theatre will no longer be presenting the ‘Russian State Opera’ productions of Carmen and Aida which were scheduled for 15 & 16 March.

All ticket holders will automatically receive a full refund – there is no need to contact the theatre.

‘Russian State Opera’ is a brand name established by a UK company Amande Concerts who are in no way affiliated with the Russian State.

We appreciate that the production company and artistes involved in these productions are in no way responsible for the actions of the Russian government and this decision was not an easy one to make. However, it is imperative that we share our support and solidarity towards the people of Ukraine during this difficult time.
