Your ultimate guide to enjoying the sunshine in and around Eastbourne
You know we have to make the most of the sunshine in Eastbourne. We never know how long it will last for and how long the rain will hold off. If this weeks weather forecast is anything to go by, we may be seeing the last of it for a while, but we hope the weather man is wrong on this occasion.
We’re lucky to have so much to do in Eastbourne, especially when the weather is nice and warm – hello living by the seaside. So here is our guide to enjoy it and have the best time.
Relax In A Beer Garden
Beer gardens are something we are not short on in Eastbourne, you’ve just got to give them all a go until you find a home you’re happy with.
Go For A Hike
We often forget about why people visit Eastbourne in the Summer months and wonder why they are so drawn here each and every single year, but there is a reason for that and The Seven Sisters is one of those reasons. We have to admit that it may not be for the faint hearted as the hills are pretty steep if you ask us, but once you’ve done it you’ll feel great and the views are fabulous.
Go For A Walk
There are so many places to go for a walk in Eastbourne, but half of them are unknown to us unfortunately. However we do like to walk across fields around Jevington, Friston and East Dean – they start and end at pubs, sooooooooo that would be why.
Alternatively you could take a trip down to Eastbourne harbour and explore. There are plenty of restaurants for you to eat at when you’ve finished your little walk.
Sunbathe At The Beach
Eastbourne has a whole lotta beach so pick a side, find a space and enjoy the day sunbathing. All of Eastbourne beaches are pebble beaches, although we do have some sand when the tide is out, so you can still build those sandcastles. Don’t forget to pack a little packed lunch, that way you don’t have to leave the beach all day long.
We have so many amazing places only 45 minutes away – such as Brighton. More beaches (we’re sure Brighton beach has smaller pebbles), more shops, a brilliant pier with lots of rides and of course restaurants and bars right on the beach.
Also don’t forget Hastings for a proper seaside feel. The Old Town is our favourite and we love people watching and having a drink in the sunshine. If you decided to grab some doughnuts, watch out for the seagulls. They steal food.
Cool Down With An Ice Cream
Now we won’t be giving you any ice cream options except for Fusciardi’s. It’s been a firm favourite since before we can remember. So many options and so many different flavours. It is literally the only place to go. You can read our previous review of Fusciardi’s here.
Eat Outside
There are some fabulous places that you can eat outside in Eastbourne, so many to choose from, you just need to pick your view. Want a view of The Beach, then head on down to The Beach Deck. If you fancy a view of the harbour, under fairy lights then you need to go to Simply Italian.
Depending on what time of day it is – you could sit outside Bill’s eat some yummy food and people watch. Bill’s is a favourite as it gets really hot there around 11am – boiling hot – just the way we like it.
