The Beach Kitchen: What
You’ll find the Beach Kitchen hidden away down Beach Road (Just off the seafront). We’ve driven down this road many times and somehow missed it, until recently. We’d only heard of it whilst in London and someone told us all about The Beach Kitchen and said that they do amazing breakfasts and you have to give it a try. So of course, we booked ourselves in and went for brunch this past Saturday. The Beach Kitchen itself is surprisingly busy – all the time – and for a good reason – don’t let that put you off, there is always a table available.
The Beach Kitchen: Food
For a small cafe the menu is vast and pretty impressive – anywhere that has a breakfast burger on the menu gets a massive 10/10 from us. If you just want porridge they’ve got you covered, want a full English they’ve got you covered – they even have a hipster breakfast on the menu, which we will be going back to test out. The Beach Kitchen’s ingredients is locally supplied – the meat is from Deans Butchers in Eastbourne and the free range eggs are from Bridges egg farm in Gun Hill. Now lets talk about what we ordered. Obviously we had to order a breakfast burger, because who doesn’t love a burger.
Also a proper fry up because is it even a weekend breakfast without one and a very important pancake brekkie for a little one.
All of the food was amazing. The burger was soooooooo good it had bacon, sausage, hash browns and a seasoned omelette stacked up, getting hungry just writing about it. The pancakes were homemade blueberry pancakes. What we liked the best about these was that they don’t scrimp on maple syrup – very important factor there.
The Proper breakfast was huge – 2 sausages, 2 bits of bacon, 2 hash browns, country fries, beans and mushrooms with sour dough toast. This now brings us back to the title – the best sausages in Eastbourne is a pretty bold statement – but it’s true.
The Beach Kitchen: Verdict
It’s always nice to find places in Eastbourne that we have never heard of – even better when they are hidden gems like The Beach Kitchen. This will definitely be a new haunt for us as we really loved the menu, so we will be coming back each week until we’ve tried everything on the menu.
