No we’re the first to admit – we didn’t actually want to go and see this movie, we’re not big on musicals, unless it’s Frozen or Grease from way back in the day. However after all the rave reviews it’s had, we kind of felt a bit missed out, so this is how we’ve ended up doing a review of said musical. So maybe it’s a musical for those who don’t like musicals, because it’s definitely won us over.
As the title would suggest the movie is set in sunny LA and what is LA renowned for? Wannabe musicians and actresses waiting for their big break. Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) struggling musician and Mia (Emma Stone) struggling actress, keep bumping into each other. They have an obvious attraction and out start as friends who are attracted to each other. They become more and help each other to pursue their dreams.
We’ll leave it there as it has a HUGE unexpected twist and we’re still trying to come to terms with it *insert laughing emoji* – Seriously contemplating the meaning of life after that – ha ha.
Also we forgot to mention John Legend is in it – WE LOVE HIM!
