Movie Review: Gemini Man

Movie review – Gemini Man

Will Smith has both the leading roles in this movie, so we couldn’t not go and watch it. Was it amazing? No. Was it as good as Independence Day (the first one not the second one)?, No. Was it better than After Earth? 100%.

The story itself was actually good. However the CGI in the first half of the movie wasn’t great and that was so off putting as you were just trying to catch them out. If you’re wondering how bad the CGI is – think Harry Potter and the first ever Quidditch game that was ever shown – especially when Harry lost the bone in his arm.

Now lets get back to the movie – Will Smith literally out performs himself – his younger self that is. Will  plays a contract killer named Henry – who is the BEST at what he does and at 51 years of age, he decides to retire. His bosses become suspicious and put a tab on him, which then lead to Henry uncovering something that he shouldn’t know. This in turn annoys hid bosses and then they send out a hit team to end him and his team and anyone else who might know.

When the hit team fail to get Henry, the agency executes something called Gemini – which is when we are introduced to the younger Will. Who looks like Will Smith, but different. Which then in turn leads to old Will fighting young Will and uncovering the agency secrets.

Apart from the strange CGI (if that’s even what it is called) the story was good, even though you kind of knew how the movie would end.

We would definitely say wait for it to come to Netflix, it’s not really worth the trip to the cinema, but a good rainy Sunday watch for sure.
