Movie Review: Eddie The Eagle

eddie the eagle cineworld eastbourne
You may have seen Eddie the Eagle advertised and not really thought much of it. But let us tell you, this movie is well worth the watch, even if you don’t know who Eddie the Eagle is (we didn’t). It’s quite an uplifting feel good movie and did we mention that Wolverine Hugh Jackman is in it?

Eddie’s (Taron Egerton) life goal was to make it to the Olympics to compete, he wasn’t sure how he would do it or what he would do, just that he would. He didn’t care about the doubters (his Dad), he had a goal, a dream and that’s that. The movie takes you through his random path, set backs and accomplishes.

As his failures unfold it turns out that he is kinda ok at ski jumping, mainly due to his stupidity, lack of any fear, he finds himself talking to Bronson Peary (Wolverine), who was a one time Olympian, turned snow plough driver/ alcoholic.

Watching Eddie do the ski jumps with no practice is really nerve racking, will he make it won’t he make it, will that be the end of the movie? You end up really routing for him, crossing your fingers and praying.

The movie had a really great ending that had you crying for happiness for Eddie and leaving the cinema a little bit inspired.

100% well worth the watch.
