It started with a kiss in tjs 8yrs ago….
Loads of life and stuff happened then….
Craig took me away for a fancy weekend at Luton Hoo in April 2013, literally the best hotel and spa I’ve ever been too even more so because I got the incredible ring I’d seen in gold arts jewellrey shop 6months previously! The wedding was all planned in a fancy chapel and rose garden in Otham Court when we decided for a few reasons to reschedule for a different time (house, family etc).
Sooo I booked the wedding in April 2014 for June 2014….. No venue yet just the ceremony. I had about 3k max to find a venue, feed everyone twice and get a band, flowers, cars, photographer, hairdresser and all the invites and decorations. We are lucky people and have some seriously talented friends that meant we could have a few extras without having to pay for it!
The Ceremony was at the town hall, we arrived by White London cabs hired from 720720 and I discovered their was a bag piper to greet me.. It was a loud surprise but with Scottish roots Craig had done my family proud and managed to get a little surprise in.
After the service we went for photos at Beachy Head and to Craig’s work on the beach (Spray Watersports) before heading to the harbour.
The reception was at the Sovereign Harbour Yacht Club because Craig is a sailor and we love all things seaside. Craig’s friend Rick has a yacht down in the Harbour and was kind enough to let us ‘arrive’ at the yacht club jetty by his yacht accompanied by the bag pipes, it was pretty insane!!
People were waving and clapping it certainly added a little special touch and it gave us a chance to show off a bit and do something different to other friends who have got married. After all the fuss had died down and we had speeches and a huge roast dinner it was all about having a party.
We have always been party people and since having our little boy have reigned it in massively so really wanted the evening reception to be dancing and being silly with all of our closest friends. We had the band Beve and the beetroots (tjs house band last year) they were incredible and played the best wedding set, we managed to get all 100 guests up and dancing and finished the night being carried around on some friends shoulders with everyone jumping about and singing along to the music.
Two special thank yous…. Lyndsay Bell… Wedding cake provider and all round best bridesmaid…
Alex Rumble…. One of our closest friends who sang an acoustic version of The Kooks ‘ I want to go to the seaside’ for our first dance…
All in all we had an amazing party with all our losest friends and family, managed to hook up some bests who are now all in love, hog roast, prosecco and waaaaay to many jäger bombs made the night truly special all for a purse squeezing 3.5k!!!!! Just a tiny mention to our photographer Pippa Brabyn who is just starting out and made the whole posing bit easy and enjoyable.
