It’s Freedom Day Today, But What Will Change At The Supermarkets

It’s Freedom Day today, but what will change at the supermarkets

This is a post for anyone who is confused on what the rules are now and what exactly they are expected to do when they are out and about. The Gov’s rules have been lifted today and technically it’s up to us how we want to behave during this time. However, many shops and supermarkets have decided to keep the rules that have been in place over the last few months and would like you to do the same to. So here is a list of Eastbourne supermarkets and everything they will be keeping to and what they would like you to do when you do your food shop.

Tesco
Continue to wear face coverings in store if you can. They are sticking to enhanced hygiene and cleaning standards that have been on place. Sanitiser and wipes will still be provided at the store entrance and the traffic light entry system will still be in place.

Sainsbury’s
They will be encouraging shoppers to wear a face mask whilst in store. This will also be the same for staff unless they are sitting behind a screen. Hand sanitiser will still be available. They will also continue to clean trollies and baskets and the night time deep cleans will continue.

Aldi
Face masks will still be encouraged in store and this will be for shoppers and employees. Hand sanitiser will still be available.

Lidl
Recommends that a mask is still worn in store.

Asda
The store will be encouraging shoppers to wear masks and ask that government guidelines are followed.

Waitrose
It is recommended that shoppers wear masks but they have said that the decision is yours as to whether or not you should wear a mask.

Morrisons
They will be following gov guidelines and would like you to continue to wear face masks and also to socially distance.
