This nail polish buy, was a complete accident – we were looking for a new colour nail polish and the pink bottle below caught our attention. We had a UV lamp at E LifeStyle HQ, so we thought, we might as well try it. The UV lamp didn’t work with the gel colour and the colour was not the colour that you see on the outside. However, we decided to do a bit of research and liked that the lamp was portable, can be plugged into your laptop/ computer if needed and it looked stupidly easy to use.
The polish bottles are not opaque, so you never know what you’re actually going to get. The pink on the left was full on glitter, which I actually fell in love with. The pack itself comes with one gelnamel colour, an orange stick, nail file, wipes, wipe solution and the mini lamp. All of that for £19.99, which was pretty good.
The process is slightly long, however the kit really does work, so it is entirely worth it. First up you buff and cleanse your nail, then you apply a ‘thin’ layer of polish to the nail and then pop it into the mini lamp for 30 seconds – no need to time it as the lamp switches off itself. After the 30 seconds you need to cleanse the nail again and you’re done, although you can repeat the process if you feel another coat is desired. You need to do each finger separately, which is why it can be quite time consuming.
The kit can be picked up from Boots and although the initial cost may seem a bit much, it is only £19.99 and then you are done. I think that the polishes are a bit pricey at £9.99, but for chip free nail polish i’ll give anything a try. I will definitely be recommending this to absolutely anyone who will listen! Will update you all as soon as I get some new colours, or attempt to do my feet. The lamp is a clever little thing and flips around so that you can do each toe at a time and not have to contort your toes.
