It’s pancake day tomorrow, so we will be showing your some of our favourite pancakes recipes and what we’ve been making over the weekend. First up we have our Funfetti pancakes, which are basically American style pancakes with sprinkles thrown in to make them look all pretty. The American pancake recipe that we used came from the Nigella Lawson’s website, which you can get here.
After mixing all of your pancake batter, you need to add butter to your pan and find a medium to low heat, so that the pancakes won’t burn. Once the temperature is correct add your pancakes batter. To make the medium pancake sizes, scoop in 4 table spoons of batter. Then add sprinkles and chopped strawberries and leave until the pancake is bubbling on the top (around 1 and a half minutes). Once it is bubbling on top, flip it over for another minute and a half. Once done, remove the pancake, pop it on a plate and put in a pre heated oven on a low heat to keep it warm whilst you cook the rest of the batter.
Chop up your fruit of choice to add to your pancake stack, grab your maple syrup, take your pancakes out of the oven and eat up. The more maple syrup the better.
*** EDIT *** Make sure to add your sprinkles to the pancake batter when you are cooking it and not into the whole batter, otherwise the colours will all run into each other. Alternatively you can use butterfly sprinkles (like we did) or spriderman sprinkles, where the colour won’t run.
