Why you need to eat at The Bok Shop
We managed to get down to the new restaurant at The Beacon – THE BOK SHOP – just before Christmas.
We’ve been excited for The Bok Shop to open for about a year now and we couldn’t wait to see what they had to offer.
We can happily say that they didn’t disappoint it surpassed our expectations and it may just be a new favourite for us.
We had the Katsu-Katsu fries, The Classic burger with some added extras, chicken tenders with all the sauces and the Piggie Smalls burger
The Katsu-Katsu fries were freaking amazing and we think that everyone MUST order these on their first visit. Honestly – you won’t regret it – unless you don’t like curry sauce, then you’re gonna want to swerve these.
The chicken tenders – we ordered with every single dip on the menu to go with these. The stand out ones for use were the satay sauce, the Goku (sweet, sticky and tangy) and also the blue cheese sauce. Absolute favourites. Will defo order those 3 for the rest of our lives. Give those a try and tell us we’re wrong! Also the chicken tenders by themselves were also pretty great.
Now the burgers at The Bok Shop burgers come with options. And what great options they are. You get the chance to add extras to any burger on the menu and then they also give yo the chance to Bossman your burger, which allows you to add all the extra options to said burger of choice. The first and most important thing to point out is that you can order a hash brown in your burger. To be honest we think that, that should be mandatory. Is it even a burger without a hash brown? We obviously had cheese as well, and the other options are bacon and of course double up your burger.
For classic burger, which is a buttermilk fried thigh with shredded iceberg, lemon pepper mayo and pickles. The extras we added for this burger were a hash brown and also cheese. Always cheese. The burger itself was incredible and we’ve not stopped thinking about it since the visit.
We also had the Piggie Smalls, which has a buttermilk fried thigh with melted applewood cheddar, BBQ ham hock, pickles and shredded iceberg and of course with all the sides – hash brown, bacon and cheese. It was epic. Absolutely massive and it nearly done us in. A nap was definitely needed after this one, but it was so worth it.
Next on our must try list is going to be the Satay Night Fever burger it sounds sooooo good. You check out the full Bok Shop menu here to see what else they have to offer.
Lastly pudding – we didn’t want a pudding as we were stuffed but we happily agreed to have one bite of something, which in hindsight we definitely could have had one to ourselves. OMG if you’ve never tried a doughnut with ice cream you are missing out! M.I.S.S.I.N.G O.U.T
You might also be happy to know that they have a fantastic vegan menu. Which is perfect for anyone who is vegan of course, but everyone who is looking to do Veganuary this Jan.
Now you know all that we know you may go forth and order some chicken.
Let us know what you think – we’re excited for you!
