Nothing new here ladies we know, but we had forgotten about this breakfast fave. We haven’t had dippy eggs and soldiers in such a long time, that we actually forgot how to cook the eggs and how to get the top off the eggs. I know – it may have taken 3 adults for that one and a bit of googling.
Anyways, just a quick idea for Easter Sunday – a favourite for the whole family and whats more, they are soooooo easy to make. And they include the non choclate egg variety, although we’re sure you could just eat all the chocolate eggs instead.
For those not in the boiling a dippy egg no how – bring pan of water to the boil, then let it go to a gentle simmer (when there are little bubbles in the water). Pop the eggs in and leave for about 4 minutes – use a timer – there is nothing more disappointing than a non runny dippy egg.
Again for those of you who don’t know how to get the top of the egg off – use the back of your spoon, give it a medium tap to make the top crack, then grab a knife an cut the top off. We’re sure there is a better way – if you have any tips, then let us know.
Serve with chicks and chocolate, because Easter is the only acceptable day to eat chocolate for brekkie.
For the toast we went for cheesey bread, because we love cheese. Then we had three options for spread – garlic butter, butter and also marmite.
We could have probably done without the garlic butter on toast – it’s a bit of a random taste with cheese and eggs. However the marmite on toast was a winner.
