Last week we headed on over to the East Sussex National to use their spa facilities at the Horsted Spa for the day and we thought we may as well review it whilst we’re here. 8 of use rocked up at 10 am to start a day of treatments, relaxing and prosecco. We all went for 2 mini treatments each – you can view what they have on offer here. For 2 mini treatments it was £75, which isn’t too bad and you get to use the spa facilities all day for that price. What would have been amazing was if lunch was included in the price. We all had a mixture of facials, mani’s, pedi’s and back massages.
To start with the ladies at the desk hand you all your bits that you will need for the day – a cosy dressing gown, a £1 for a locker and some very sexy slippers. And then you are taken through to have your treatments.
One of the treatments rooms that are used for massages and facials. The facials were very good, each lucky lady that opted for a facial was pleasantly surprised and fully relaxed and glowy. The massages were a bit light and a bit blah. More like just getting your back rubbed for half hour, which is still lovely, but you were left wanting just a little bit more. We were then shown where to aromatherapy room was and the sauna so we stopped off there whilst all the other ladies treatments were being finished off and then to the relaxation room for a gossip and some green tea.
After treatments and a little snooze in the relaxation room we then ordered our lunch at the bar area and then used the swimming pool, jacquzzi and sauna whilst we were waiting for it all to be cooked. Annoyingly, on the menu, they have all the calories listed next to the food. The lovely club sandwich below was just under 1000 calories – we think they were lying though, to trick you into making healthier choices.
After our lunch was all gobbled down it was prosecco time – to celebrate the birthday girl, which went down very nicely. Then was time for us all to part ways – some for more treatments and the rest of us – to the jacquzzi. We all had a lovely day at the spa although it isn’t the best one around. I’m sure we will be back and we do love a spa day. If you would like to book at the Horsted Spa – you will find out all the information on the East Sussex National website here.
