7 amazing burgers to eat in Eastbourne for National Burger Day
It’s National Burger Day today and we couldn’t be more excited! Guess what we’ll be having for lunch and dinner? And we’re not even feeling guilty about it – not one bit! So here are 7 of our favourite burgers for you to try today and celebrate National Burger Day.
1. The Big Cheese at Half Man Half Burger
We haven’t had a bad burger at Half Man yet and we’ve tried a fair few. Our firm favourite has to be the big cheese (on the left hand side in the above picture) which is – two patties, gherkin, Monterey jack cheese, Frenchs Mustard, Heinz Ketchup and shredded iceberg. It’s delicious and you can read our previous review of Half Man Half Burger here.
2. Katsu Curry Burger at Old Dave’s
We actually did not know that this burger even existed until we started this post, but it sounds absolutely delicious! Who doesn’t LOVE a Katsu curry. The burger is topped with Katsu curry sauce, homemade sweet pickled Asian veg, finished with peanuts and watercress. OMG!
3. 999 Burger at 7Bone Burger Co
This is their latest special and we’re pretty excited about it (seen here). This burger is crammed full of grilled sourkraut, double chicken fried bacon, swiss cheese, 6oz aged beef patty and Putin’s fancy dressing (aka Russian sauce). Sounds so good – looks even better!
4. The All American Burger at Frankie and Benny’s
This will be the worst recommendation ever, but we can’t remember what was in this burger – but it was one of the best burgers we have ever tasted. In the top 10! It was so amazingly good. Recommend this one – 100%.
5. Southern Fried Cajun Chicken Burger at Bibendum
The only chicken one in the list – but it is the best. The chicken burger included – a butterflied chicken breast coated in a Bibendum Cajun mix served in a toasted brioche bun with cheese, salad, beef tomato, sliced beetroot & BBQ sauce, finished with fries & a side of coleslaw. Although the post isn’t about the sides – the chips at Bibendum were so good. You can read our full review in Eastbourne Lifestyle’s digital magazine here.
6. The Heffer at Old Dave’s
This burger didn’t initially sound like much, but it was so ridiculously filling. It comes with Sussex smoked cheese, smoked streaky bacon, finished with homemade red onion marmalade, yellow mustard, sliced tomatoes and mustard. Absolutely delicious.
7. Ribs & Co
We don’t need to say much about this burger as the picture is doing the talking! This isn’t actually in Eastbourne, but Ribs & Co in Hailsham isn’t too far to travel. This burger is The Alan burger, which has – 4oz 100% British beef patty, topped with Ribs & Co’s shredded baby back rib meat, oodles of house glaze, Monterey jack cheese, lettuce, pickle and a seeded bun served with coleslaw and fresh fries. You can read our Ribs & Co review here.
