Hands up if you’ve been to Nelsons Coffee Co? If your hand isn’t up, then why haven’t you?
We headed on down to Nelsons Coffee Co on Saturday to try out their brunch menu, because we think Eastbourne has a serious lack of brunch places, or so we thought. For those of you who don’t know and have lived in Eastbourne long enough, Nelsons is where Lazy Bones used to be – bet those of you who remember lazy bones are feeling old right about now. And for those of you who wonder what on earth we are talking about Nelsons is across the road from the train station if your are look away from the taxi rank. Now we’ve got that cleared up ……..
Nelsons Coffee Co: What you need to know
Everything that you find at Nelsons is instagrammable – does this make us a bit sad to say that? Who cares it’s our job *insert winky emoji here* The food, the coffee, the table setting, the cake – instagrammable.
Nelsons Coffee Co: The Food
The food is pretty different from what we’re used to in Eastbourne – good different, really good different. You can go healthy (Overnight muesli), you can go naughty (Big brekkie), or you can go vegetarian (Veggie big brekkie) amongst other things. We opted for the Toffee banana pancakes which came with red maple syrup, toasted almonds and cardamom spiced mascarpone. Which was amazing – AMAZING! Try it!
And also the Big brekkie – but the vegetarian option – because it had Halloumi – which sold us instantly. WE LOVE HALLOUMI. That was so so filling, but so unbelievably good. We didn’t miss out on the meat at all and we’re not even vegetarians. Did we say HALLOUMI.
Nelsons Coffee Co: The Drinks
As you’d expect they serve coffee and a really good caramel latte if you want to drink coffee, but don’t like coffee, then a caramel latte is the one for you.
They also have tea – as you’d expect, but it’s clever tea. It comes out with a timer depending on how strong you like you’re tea, you can wait for the timer or you can take it off earlier. Maybe we’re easily amazed.
Nelsons Coffee Co: Our VerdictÂ
Nelsons Coffee Co is definitely one to pop on the must visit every week list. They have so many items on the menu that we can’t wait to try! Next up we’re having the French toast. We’ve never ever tried French toast, we hear it’s good. The staff were so nice and friendly, even whilst being busy! Also if you’re heading down at the weekend – we just about beat the rush which was around 10.15 or around then. They were pretty busy after that, as you’d expect.
