Here we have it another afternoon tea post for you all, we love afternoon tea incase you haven’t already guessed. And so do all of you, if our website stats are anything to go by. Last week we crossed The Cumberland Hotels Afternoon Tea off of our to do list. And we were so happy that we went. We went down last week to give their Celebration Afternoon Tea a go and we were very very pleased that we did.
We were naughty and started off with the strawberries and sparkling wine, which went down very nicely, the strawbs as well, not just the wine. We loved every single bite of it and we could have eaten a lot more, but we knew that we had lots of goodies coming up shortly.
Once all of that yumminess was finished off, it was time for the main event. Now we have a routine for these afternoon teas – first up we have the sandwiches, then onto the scones (they are far too good to accidentally be too full to eat) and lastly we go in for the cake.
The scones looked too good to eat and they get brownie points for already adding the jam and cream.
The tea was yummy and we were offered a top up a couple of times throughout the afternoon. On a normal day we would have said yes, but we were still enjoying the bubbles.
The afternoon tea was served in the conservatory, which was the perfect place to watch the world go by. We could imagine, that on a sunny day it would be the best place to enjoy the sunshine.
The most perfect scone EVER – just look at how pretty it is. The staff were very friendly and polite, which is nice as it makes the experience that much more special.
If you fancy booking The Cumberland Hotel for a Celebration Afternoon Tea you can check out the prices and everything else that is included on the website here. They also do a few different afternoon teas, so there is something for everyone at different price points. Our afternoon tea was the Celebration Tea, priced at £19.50 and it was worth every penny.
