We found out that the Boship Lions Farm Hotel do afternoon teas via Groupon and they had a fab deal for something like £8 for a champagne afternoon tea, which we thought was a great deal if you ask us. So we thought as afternoon tea’s in eastbourne is our most popular posts, we had to share our thoughts on this particular one.
Boship Lions Farm Hotel: The Food
It’s not what we’d usually expect from an afternoon tea if we’re honest. The sandwiches were a slice of cheese of beef, which is a bit random if you ask us. also they were just kind of cut in half and that was that. We’re used to dainty sandwiches, cut in small neat shapes and also a variety of fillings. We guess it was more the presentation than anything else, but it was a shame. The scones were so good, and you got two each, one plain and one raisin. They were so yummy, we can’t complain about those at all, but then you get to the cake. We’re used to more of a selection and cut into smaller afternoon tea sized pieces. The victoria sponge cake was a huge slice, but also really yummy. We’re not entirely sure what the second cake was, but it was all broken and kinda unappealing.
Boship Lions Farm Hotel: The Drink
The bubbles were very yummy, but we didn’t actually get any tea. That’s the weirdest thing to say for an afternoon tea, there was no tea. We’re not sure if this was an oversight, if the staff forgot the tea, or if that’s what they do when you also elect to have a glass of bubbles with your afternoon tea. Every afternoon tea we’ve ever had, included a pot of tea to go alongside the bubbles. So who knows.
Boship Lions Farm Hotel: Verdict
We’d probably give the hotel a 5/10, just because they didn’t really meet normal afternoon tea expectations, it still tasted great, it just doesn’t really rate compared to other afternoon tea’s we have had in Eastbourne. However it was a great setting with fabulous veiws, so that gives it a thumbs up.
