This past Saturday saw us take a trip on down to Patisserie Valerie as we heard a little birdie saying that they were now selling afternoon teas. We were pretty excited by that as they do some Ah-ma-zing cakes. Now first up, 3 of us went and we shared the afternoon tea for 2 – there was a lot of it – just depends how hungry you are. As always there is a tea or bubbly option – see prices further down.
We opted for the tea as we were driving – extra water for the pot of tea wasn’t supplied, but we’re sure that if you asked they would have brought some over.
The sandwiches were lovely – the chicken and pesto was the favourite, followed by egg, cucumber, ham and salmon.
The next tier up – you had two small plain scones, two small raisin scones and 2 small quiches. All were amazing – but those quiches though – perfect.
Top tier – we were absolutely stuffed by this point, but on offer we had 2 small eclairs, one small victoria sponge, one mini carrot cake, one mixed berry fruit slice and one double chocolate mousse slice.
The only thing that we could say bad about the tea, is that we would have liked to have seen a better collection of cakes on offer. These might just be some of you lovely readers favourite cake choices, however we would have liked to have seen a strawberry gateau included into that mix. We did eat absolutely all of it though.
The price for an afternoon tea is £25 for 2 or if you opt for bubbly it’s £30 for 2. As far as the price goes – you definitely are getting your moneys worth. There is so much included in this and at £12.50 per person it really is a bargain. You can view the afternoon tea menu here. Have a read and tell us that, that doesn’t make you hungry. We want one right now. Do let us know if you go down and give it a try. Tag us in your pictures with the hashtag #EastbourneLifeStyle
