A few weeks a go, my friend suggested that we get together and host an afternoon tea in aid of Marie Curie. Initially we were like – what’s the point we won’t make much of a difference. However once signing up – Marie Curie send through a little pack – which show you exactly what your money can do to help. They also provide your with some baking tips and some fund raising ideas.
The tea party itself, was so much fun. We ate cake, drank tea and had a fabulous time with friends, family and lots of children and as an added bonus we made £152, which is amazing. If you would like to host your own tea party and help raise money for a good cause whilst having a great time, then you can register here and get your charity pack.
We would like to thank some local businesses for donating cakes and scones and crockery to the cause, it was a lovely thought and a fantastic help on the organising front. So a massive thank you to Mini Manley Bakery for supplying the amazing lemon meringue cake, Barrett Byrd Associates for supplying the scones and jam and Bella’s Secret for supplying the adorable mini cupcakes at such short notice. Also a HUGE thank you to Betty Loves Vintage for lending us beautiful cups and saucers, cake stands, tea pots and milk pots. Please do check out Mini Manley Bakery and Bella’s Secrets if you’re ever in need of some cake goodness. They were amazing and you should see some of the creations in Bella’s – actual masterpieces. And if you have any weddings or events that need beautiful crockery – do get in touch with Betty Loves Vintage. Lovely ladies and great at what they do.
