1. Set a budget
This point may seem obvious on a post called 5 tips for brides on a budget, but set budget and stick to it. Make it a reasonable budget that you know wont kill your bank balance. There will always be things that you forget – so if you’re sensible you’ll be able to stretch it that little bit further.
2. Save on shoes
Seriously – you may have wanted a pair of louboutins for your wedding day, but you don’t need them. No one sees them anyway. The money is better spent elsewhere.
3. Trim the guest list
We know weddings are a big day for the whole family, but if Aunt Maggie who lives in Texas who you’ve never met is going to blow the budget, don’t invite her. You might feel a bit mean, but if you’ve got 60 close friends and family that you have to pay for – someone has to go.
4. Be selfish
Getting married can involve a lot of people. People with opinions and people who want things done the way they want. Don’t be a people pleaser – it’s your big day and not anyone else’s.
5. Get married on a week day
Getting married on a week day can sometimes save you a whopping 30% on your wedding day, if not more. So if you send your invites out well in advance, your guests will have enough time to book a day off work.
We hope that was useful for some of you brides to be. If you have any further money saving tips, let us know.
