Meet Grace who is just 14 and has launched her own business
Today we’re chatting to 14 year old Grace, from Eastbourne, who launched her own sweet delivery business last week called – Simply Sweet.
Tell us a bit about yourself … Im 14 years old and I often spend my spare time with my family
What inspired you to start a business? My Mum actually helped come up with the idea, as something to do it in my free time whilst i’m not going to school.
How did you come up with the name? We came up with the name Simply Sweet because it’s simple and easy to remember so if anyone would like to buy sweets from a local company, it’s an easy name to remember.
What kind of sweets will you be selling? The sweet boxes are just pick and mix at the moment, but i’m thinking about doing Mother’s Day boxes, hopefully.
What will your work week look like? We will take orders throughout the week. We will also have a few boxes to spare for any last minute orders on Friday and then delivery will be on a Saturday.
And because you’re 14, how will you be delivering your sweets to customers? As i’m only 14, it would be a struggle for me to get the boxes delivered, so my Mum is helping me deliver them to people’s houses on Saturday’s in the afternoon.
We sold out in the first weekend, which is so exciting and i’m so excited for the weeks to come.
What will you be doing with the money that you earn? Some of the money will be going back in to my business and the rest of it I will be saving up for something, but I don’t know what that is yet.
For any other teenagers looking to start a business – what would you advice be? If you’re looking to start your own little business, make sure you do lot’s of research and maybe have someone to do the business with you, to help you so that there isn’t lots of stress and pressure on you to do all the orders.
